The NSW State Rally is a statewide lightweight, competitive camp held each August at Cataract Scout Park. Rally aims to provide all Scouts, regardless of experience, a chance to practice lightweight camping.
Patrols compete against each other in a series of activities. These activities require the use of Scouting skills to achieve a result. Activities are spread over 5 bases (called Rally Activity Centres or RACs). Patrols move between the RACs in the course of the week-end. This gives every patrol the chance to experience all activities. This year 1st Leumeah entered 2 patrols and one of them, the Rosellas wone 1st Place in the Hume Region section of the Rally. Whoo Hoo!.
The Rally website is here , you can get the full results and round up from there.

Georgia, Jess and Sean organised and ran a blue cord hike on Starlights trail near Hilltop NSW. The walk was about 17km long and was great (except for the fire people). Georgia is starting to plan her green cord. Hopefully Seans bliters will be better by then.

Bushwalkers.Let Nifty know who wants to go on either of the hikes.-
The Cub hike is fairly straight forward with a small detour to the Cave. The note is here.-
The Snr Scout / Venturer hike is particularly aimed at those hikers who have missed out on the Box Canyon exit from Coxs river that we have tried unsuccessfully to do several times over the last few years. This is not for inexperienced hikers. The idea is to hike with day packs after camping the night in the car-park camping area. You will need sufficient equipment to survive a COLD night out if we get delayed.
- Dont forget members of the bushwalking team including youth and ADULT members will still need to submit a completed “A1” but there is NO payment required. The note is here. |
