Welcome to the 1st Leumeah Scout Group home Page.
From here you will be able to find out all sorts of stuff about scouting and what it can do for you.
Currently 1st Leumeah has Scouts, Cubs and Joeys so why don't you come on in and join the fun!
This site is a work in progress and will change from time to time. If you feel you want to be a member then send me an email and I'll see what I can do.
Alan
Joeys: Tuesdays 5:30PM - 6:30PM
Cubs: Tuesdays 6:45PM - 8:30PM
Scouts: Wednesdays 7:00PM - 9:00PM
Group Committee: First Tuesday of Each Month 7:30PM
Costs:
Different groups have different fee structures here is what we do at first Leumeah.
Association Fees:
There are 2 fees charge by the Scout Association of Australia a so called:
• Registration Fee
• Joining Fee
The registration fee of $92.00 covers the running of Scouting operations in NSW including
the provision of campsites and activity centres and administration and development tasks.
It also includes a component for insurance (public liability and personal accident insurance) coverage.
A one-off joining fee of $20.00 is also charged once to each member.
Group Fees: The Group is completely self-funded and must meet the cost of maintaining equipment as well as paying for
and maintaining the Scout Hall itself. There is also the cost of providing resources for weekly games and
activities and Leader training costs which are met by the Group. At first Leumeah we only have one such fee:
• Term Fee
Term fees of $50.00 per term apply for the first child and $40.00 per term, per child for families with more
than one child attending. All fees must be up-to-date before members can attend any special/extra activities
unless arrangements have been made with the treasurer.
These fees may be paid by the term or on a weekly or ad-hoc basis and apply regardless of attendance.
Summary:
Once Off Fees: $112.00 per child (to go to Scouts Australia)
Term Fees: $50 per term (for a single child)
or $40 per term per child for more than 1 child

Camp Quality BBQ and Convoy Wednesday, November 19 @ 20:32:34 EST by groupleader (0 reads) | groupleader writes "Mary James from First Appin sent this in... Thanks to you and all the helpers you bought along on the day, its greatly appreciated. We are going to suggest to Camp Quality / i98 that bbq site 3 be moved to an area near the coach entry gate at Cataract Scout Park. Then our helpers can watch the trucks leave. It was crazy at site 1! The tally for funds raised on Monday was $269,000.00 up by $87,000.00 last year, there were 592 trucks and 380 bikes taking part. The limit on trucks is said to be 600.
We have sent a cheque to Camp Q for $1800.00 up by $800.00 last year! we are very pleased with this outcome.
There are a few photos here (log in before you can see them though!). Mary"

My Grey Wolf Hike Monday, November 17 @ 14:47:24 EST by parent (7 reads) | parent writes " On Sunday 16 November, I organised and led my grey wolf hike at mount Annan Botanical gardens, Courtney, Britney, Caralina, & Lachlan joined me along with Akela, Moani, Kanga, Alex and my mum. We started off at the carpark and followed the mount annan map around the lake where we took a compass bearing and followed on to the top of the mountain, moani just made it up the mountain she was looking very tired and about to pass out. We did some more compass work, before heading back down the mountain.
Here are some photos, (make sure you log in first!).
The flies were very annoying and we were all very tired by the end. Akela got me to do some trail signs for my gold boomerang and the other cubs followed them it was alot of fun, we were then rewarded with Mcdonalds before we all went home for a well deserved rest.
I would like to thank Kanga & Moani for all of there help and also Alex who tested me throughout the walk. Also a special thankyou to Akela for all her help in testing me for my badge work and making cubs fun.
And most of all to my mummy who i love very much and would not of been able to do this without her.

| A Scout Prayer | A SCOUT PRAYER
Almighty and everlasting God, By whose grace thy servants are enabled to fight The good fight of faith and ever prove victorious; We humbly beseech thee so to inspire us That we may yield our hearts to thine obedience And exercise our wills on thy behalf. Help us to think wisely, To speak rightly, To resolve bravely, To act kindly, To live purely. Bless us in body and soul And make us a blessing to our comrades. Whether at home or abroad May we ever seek the extension of thy kingdom. Let the assurance of thy presence Save us from sinning, Strengthen us in life and comfort us in death. O Lord our God, accept this prayer
AMEN
